News Fridays

I learned my lesson last year about the secondary market while DREV Pot of Dualities were valued at $120 and have begun to trust Konami in what seems is an attempt to stabilize the market. I am amazed with the idea of Battle Packs and the reprints Konami confirmed. In short,  Battle Packs are similar to Magic: The Gathering sealed drafts and to be perfectly honest I think it's a great idea! It will bring in a different crowd of players and could even get old players back into the mix. We'll see how this will progress but I'm giving it two thumbs up! Next week, on February 11th Team Misplay will be going to Heroes & Fantasies in San Antonio, Texas for regionals.  I am hoping to judge under head judge, Ontario Durgan.  The rest of the team will be going to play, trade, sell, and buy.  Hope to see you there!!!!

  1. Is this their way of countering cardfight vanguard? If it is I think Yu-Gi-Oh shld be back on track.

  4. So I assumed that they are using this method to prove that Yu-gi-oh boosters, all the cards can be used to make a deck like how cardfight vanguard can.

  5. I dont think that CFV was specifically created to compete with yugioh. the game mechanics and processes are built and work much differently than yugioh. I believe CFV is more of a hybrid between Magic and Naruto. as of right now CFV is in its infancy and of course you can build a full deck with the opening boosters due to how small the card pool is. And with any game its more about what preference a player has over what the price is. obviously as of now CFV is a less expensive game as opposed to yugioh, but at the same time ygo is much less expensive than poker, yet people choose to play the games they enjoy. At its core konami is making the right decision in the new waves of reprints that it has been doing over the course of the past year or so and even more so it has now successfully created a casual format. I know at the local shop where the team runs yugioh its not very competitive in its meta yet there are a few competitive players but mostly casual players. with the release of BP it allows for something that the more casual players can get into without feeling as if they have paid an entry only to spend 4 hours losing and receiving nothing for their time and effort
